Legos!

Let's face it... my class is obsessed with Legos! & with the Lego movie now playing in theaters, it's a loosing battle to even try to change the topic of conversation. Impressively, they've been quoting the movie for over a week; I think I may have to cave & go see it just so I know what all the hype is about.

Meanwhile, last Thursday I once again won the title of "world's best teacher!" (I mean, kids don't just say that to anyone do they?!) Anyway, it happened when I announced that we'd be building with Legos during Social Studies. Thanks to the numerous tubs of Legos I have in my recess cabinet, we managed to build a miniature version of our local community, featuring many of our favorite spots.

Here it is, like never seen before, the City of Manistee! Featuring: a Police Station,  the Homeward Bound Animal Shelter, the City if Manistee Municipal Marina, the Train Bridge, the Vogue Movie Theatre, M.C.C. School & Saber football stadium, and the Community Pool.

The 1950's

Today we celebrated the 50th day of school in 1950's style! For starters, the elementary students & staff dressed-up. You should know, they all looked amazing!

Personally, I was really into the idea... see for yourself:

While prepping for the day, I did the first thing I always do to get my ideas flowing, I visited Pinterest (of course).

I also made a Pandora station using "The Chords (1950's)"
We listened and danced along to it all day.
The students loved it!
I loved it more.

My TpT Store - Now Open for Business!

I am officially selling my first product in my TpT Store.
(Along with a few FREEBIES of course.)

Please support me on this new journey and share with anyone who you think may be interested! I wish I could get my products to look as fancy as some of you more experienced sellers! However, as we teach our students, good things take time and we are all still learning.
