It's the Season... for Elf on the Classroom Shelf!

My Teachers Pay Teachers, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook accounts are overflowing with "Elf on the Shelf" (Click here to visit the official website) ideas for teachers to use in their classrooms.

I decided to be brave and give it a try this year. If you have not joined in on the Elf fun just yet, my advice is this:

Tip #1 - Try not to get overwhelmed! There are simple and easy ways to implement an Elf into your classroom world and your students will love it.

Today, our elf, Rosie, decided to write her name of every student's math paper. She even did one of the problems for them!

Please notice: it happened to be a fraction problem that she made look like an Elf hat.

Tip #2 - Be creative! I like to keep the students guessing. After all, the true excitement of an Elf is that you can never predict what it's going to do next!

To help share all of our unique ideas:
"Seusstastic" & "Apples & ABCs" are hosting
an Elf in the Classroom Linky Party! See below:

So, to get you started, or to help keep you going on your Elf adventures, here are some curriculum resources worth checking out!

The 1950's

Today we celebrated the 50th day of school in 1950's style! For starters, the elementary students & staff dressed-up. You should know, they all looked amazing!

Personally, I was really into the idea... see for yourself:

While prepping for the day, I did the first thing I always do to get my ideas flowing, I visited Pinterest (of course).

I also made a Pandora station using "The Chords (1950's)"
We listened and danced along to it all day.
The students loved it!
I loved it more.

Check out the links below to access some amazing FREEBIES that I used to create a day of 1950's classroom fun.
